Natalie's pic

Ok, not sure why natalie's picture got all cut off but here it is the right way.

Christmas Pictures

Wow! Do I have a cute family or what?! The girls had their Primary Program last month so I learned from last year's Christmas dress fiasco and bought early. Figured I'd get at least 3 great uses out of these bad boys. Wore them for the program, pictures and then Christmas. I was very happy to find coordinating dresses for all three of them. Considering they are all in different size brackets that is no easy feat! I also figured I'd take advantage of our photo time and get Addison's 6 month pictures taken (ok, so I'm a month late on that...) She's getting so big! She has four teeth now. The top two just broke through this week. They seem to be coming in pairs, which is fine with me, it's like a two for one deal. Although she's taken to teething pretty well, usually a grumpy day and then in comes the teeth. So I can't complain! She started crawling in earnest in the last week. She's been doing the belly scoot for a while but she's got the all fours forward motion now. She's thinking about pulling up on stuff now. Not so sure I like that.... She is a sweet girl though, and she is ADORED by her two older sisters. They love to carry her (Mommy doesn't love that so much) and make her laugh and feed her. I can't get them excited about changing diapers though. And sorry about the goofy layout on this post, I'm all discombobulated tonight, but I figured a weird layout is better than nothing! :-)

My one and only political post

Ok, so here it is, I've debated back and forth about making this post but I've decided the time for fear of offending others has passed there are too many other things of far greater value and meaning at stake in the coming week.  So rather than forward you all endless emails with relevant links I'm combining them all here.  I make only 2 requests.  First, find out about the candidates and issues.  You should NOT vote if you don't know what you are voting for.  Second, please VOTE.  Take the time, make the effort, people fight and die for this right every day.  Don't take it for granted.

The things I value:
Prop 8 (for those not in CA this is the prop amending the CA constitution to have the definition of marriage include that of same-sex couples).  Redefining marriage to include homosexual couples is wrong.  Plain and simple it's wrong.  If you think it's right please feel free to share and also please check out the following:

click here to view the article from the LA times about the Teacher's Union's contribution.   Don't you dare tell me that this won't effect our children when the teacher's union takes a stand.

Barack Obama
Don't misunderstand I have no great love for John McCain, Sarah Palin absolutely, but not McCain.  Barack Obama is an evil man.  He wants to trample the things this country was built upon and the symbols that represent it.  He does not value the constitution, the flag or the anthem.  He wants to socialize this country.  He preaches Marxism.  He associates with not one, not two but many, many people who HATE this country.

C'mon Help a Kid Out!

So the annual (or is it monthly) school fundraiser is underway and I have been coerced into being part of my daughter's sales team (she's a ferocious negotiator). I told her my contribution would be putting up her online shopping link on the blog (remember when we went door to door peddling our wares?). So let's move that product! She only needs to sell 100 items and she will get a crisp $100 bill. After my cut, she should be able to get some ice cream. So here it is folks, check it out, help our failing economy and buy some good old Chinese made merchandise! (That's just for you Aaron!)

Star Wars Mania

It all started with this
And it has turned into full blown mania at our house. We got this game a few weeks ago and the girls love it (Jared an I do as well, but lets focus on the children...). So over the weekend we were playing and I said, "hey girls, do you want to see the movie this game is from?" Of course they did. So we put in Episode I and from there it turned into a full blown marathon. As soon as one was over they wanted to see the next one. Natalie decided that Episode III was too scary so she and I went and watched Kim Possible. We got through the first four this weekend and the girls are chomping at the bit for the last two. After their showers this evening I heard Aubrey say "Natalie, go get your Yoda coat!" (aka your bathrobe). What have I done?

Kid's Honesty

Aubrey got one of those cute kid journals from a friend of hers. And it's got cute little questions on it. If you went on vacation what would you take with you, if you could go anywhere where would it be. That sort of thing. Well I'm looking through her answers and I come across this one. "If you found a million dollars what would you do?" Aubrey's response "take it". I love kids! They are too funny!

Insights to Jared's soul

Let me preface this by saying the Palmer family has a group email list. We circulate family events, funny pictures and the ever so enjoyable tell me 40 things I already knew about you email. Well for some reason this one really stuck. EVERYONE answered it and as the day wore on it became a "I can out do you" type game. So at 1:30 am this is what my husband wrote. As a sidebar I don't know if I find it disturbing or hilarious. You be the judge.

OK, it's now 12:30, I just got home from working tirelessly at keeping everyone at work happy and satisfied with their work environment. It's a tough job, but with my amazing talents I seem to get the job done somehow! Matt, I know you and I both work extremely hard (your the second hardest worker I know), but comonow....even I can find time to respond to email. Maybe if you had a job in some type of technology industry that required you to use computers....oh wait a minute....heh heh! Love ya brutha.....now on to the serious matter at hand:

1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
Yes, I believe Eric, Aaron, Janene, and Kari were named first. I was named after them. I guess I was also named after Adam and Eve; I think my femininity (total word because spell check says so) comes from her. I get my humility from Ghandi I think (in case your wondering, I was also named after him).
Seriously: (apparently this is a theme): Grandpa Palmer, Freeman Moses Palmer- My good looks totally came from him! Have you seen pictures of his vivacious smile and stunning hair! My genes RULE!!

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
I cry all the time (I think I got that from Eve too; either her or Glenn Beck...he's a total cry baby as well, probably because he knows Barack Obama will be our next President....YES WE CAN!) Seriously: Probably after hearing the story of the 9 yr old Chinese boy that walked with Yao Ming in the Olympic Opening Ceremonies! I love to hear stories of courage and faith and goodwill, especially in a commi country like China. It gives me hope for the future of our country when we're stuck with Chairman Obama (YES WE CAN!!)

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?
Love it! My preference is Courier or San Serif. When I'm feeling really bold I like to use Bank Gothic. Seriously: "I love technology...." I like being able to read legibly, so please people; type more, write less! Most people don't want to admit it, but 9/10 peoples handwriting sucks rocks (this is a fact that I got straight from The Daily Show!). alnveoihapuhe asoiefahe aoinwvoi aoihhgpijrg9ojahwfouhwef..... See? Not being able to understand what someone wrote really stinks, so let's get typing people (everyone except Matt of course...we all know he doesn't know how to use a keyboard; which is why he has a wife. Way to go Kari! Matt, if you actually do read this, snicker snicker, chortle chortle, it's OK, we can't all be perfect, and I know it's probably because your still at work fixing computers. Maybe tomorrow you'll get around to learning to actually USE them :0 )

4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE LUNCH MEAT?
I'm gonna go with the kind that comes from animals. Add a bit of honey or dry rub, and it's even better! To put it plainly... if it used to moo, oink, cluck, plead to stay on the farm just another day, I'm gonna love "gettin it in ma bellee"! And, for the record, that nasty stuff that Grandma Solie would "spread" in between bread, is NOT meat! That's like saying that just because Matt works on Computers, he knows how to respond to email or type! Total fallacy!

5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
Three of the cutest little rays of sunshine on planet earth! Hey, I got no problem admitting it! My kids are cuter than your kids and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise (remember that I was also named after Genghis Khan and Hillary Clinton so I can have a bitter mean streak at times!) Seriously: Aubrey is Miss America, Natalie is that cute powder puff girl that is all girl, but has no problem kicking your ass if the case warrants it. And Addison is one big smiling, calm, peaceful, bowl of sunshine with happiness sprinkles with a dollop of adorable on top. Hold on a sec....I need a bowl of Ice Cream....

6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
Of course! I have a split personality. If I'm kind to me then I would totally hang out with myself. Or if I end up being a total nimrod (for some reason Mike Huckabee comes to mind..thanks Huck for siphoning off enough votes from Mitt Romney to make sure that we get saddles with John "Mavrick on the outside, gooey socialist who likes taxes and hugging trees on the inside" McCain) then I think I would just take the high road with myself, count my blessings that I'm not as bitter as the former me, and do my Latter Day Saint Duty by "fellowshipping" the horrible nimroddiness (I don't think that's a word because spell check put a bunch of red dots underneath it) out of myself. Wait....who's on Second Base

7. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT?
Ya know....after thinking long and hard about it...I don't think so! What a silly question! For me, that's like saying, "is it really difficult for you to keep your washboard abs looking as great as your biceps?" Of course not! It all comes naturally and without forethought. (when will the sarcasm end?)

8. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS?
I don't know...Like Eric I have never seen them, and I truly believe it's a made up bodily appendage. It's totally the doctors excuse to explain away any and all problems you may have in your head. The same is true with the appendix and the fifth metatarsal (Randy is the spelling correct on that one?)

9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?
Only if the bungee cord was actually a 1" thick steel cable, and the "jump portion" was a HUGE crane that slowly lowered me down in a large metal box. Kinda like those large people movers that you see in large buildings that have more than one floor. I think they are called elevators. I LOVE Elevators, especially the ones with the glass walls that let you see all the action around you are you speed up and down the elongated shaft that keeps the elevator upright. What can I say...I'm a sucker for thrill rides!!!

10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?
I would have to say the kind that come in a box. I can eat the ones that come in a bag, but they don't have the same corn syrup/sugar mix that I have grown accustomed to... And cereal gives me a chance to catch up on all the adolescent years of being separated from my long lost soul mate...Milk. Oh sweet nectar of the bovine Teet! I shall never leave thee again! Cows rule! Milk in the mornin, roast beef in the afternoon, and steak in the evening (but only during times of winter or famine...of course).

11. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OF ?
No, I myself, like my good friend and bother in law Matt, I have my wife do the things I'm just too busy to do myself. Thanks Matt, you are a true Patriot of the Patriarchal order! And when my wife isn't around I like to teach my wonderful daughters what being a truly devoted daughter is all about, by having them take my shoes off after a hard day of bacon getting. So as to the initial question I'll have to consult with my wife and daughters to see if they untie my shoes before taking them off. I'm usually just too exhausted at the end of a long work day to notice how they release me from my pedestrian chains. Seriously, I will be beaten and flogged for making such a comment in public. Please refer to the definition of Natalie in question 5; my ass has just been handed to her for the kicking....

12. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG?
This is such a derogatory and demeaning question. I would like to consider myself somewhat of a champion of the people. This would include people of all strengthnicities (again, there go those darn red dots under my letters! grrr); some that might engender similarities to myself like magnanimous brute power, as well as those who might not have the commanding presence that I tend to radiate. I would like to think that I can relate to all people of all sizes and strengths (I'm trying to gain the Vice Presidential nomination with Barack Obama, how am I doin?) Oh yeah....Change and Hope make us all Strong...

13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
I yeah...I forgot about Ice Cream! MAN DO I LOVE COWS!!!! I would have to say my favorite kind is that one that.....ummm...oh the name escapes me....oh yeah, it's the one that has cream, suger, and milk in it....I like that one, but not chocolate. I like vanilla more than chocolate. Not that there is a problem with chocolate (just in case the Obama camp happens to get this email, I don't want them to label me as a hate monger because I hate things that are brown...I'm a lover of everything!) I actually do love Chocolate ice cream, Senator Obama I really do! And I love to eat all kinds of ice cream, especially with undocumented citizens waiting in the lobby of any local hospital; which I hope will soon be State run, so that they are more efficient

14. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?
Their eye's, the twinkle in their step. The sheen in their hair, but most of all I can totally notice those that saved a ton of money on their car insurance..... Seriously-I notice what I like to call their Happy Meter. I'm a pretty good spotter outer of the scrooges and the angry "You Kids Get Off My Lawn" types. I'm drawn to the magnanamous, fun loving, this life is a blast!, kinda people. I think that's why I would be such a fan of me! (for those with short term memory loss please refer to question 6, or laugh weakly, acting like you got the punch line, and move on. At this point the joke is totally lost, and not worth repeating. Keep up people!)

15. RED OR PINK?
I'm part Female due to my proximity to a healthy dose of estrogen and estrogens in training. I also have a pink shirt, three pink ties (yes you guessed it, one from Emily, Aubrey, and Natalie) and I can spot out a simply fantastic pink ensemble that would look just lovely on Aubrey any day of the week. So I think I'm gonna have to go with Orange. I really love the dark orange color. Green is a close second.

16. What do you like the least about yourself
Well since I've been able to trade in my beer keg for a hearty Sam Adams Pale Ale six pack (thank you wii fit!) I would have to say I'm ready to play chess with Enoch and Co. I'm just teasin! I lost my Sam Adams six pack to a local native at the local indian casino. I tried to win back at least a six pack of Pabst Beer, but al I got was a darn keg of O'Doules. Yeah, you probably saw through my wry innuendoes....I'm fat, fat fat fattykins. Fatty McButter pants. I'm not to fond of my fat. So I either dislike my fat most, or my disappointment in not getting into Harvard Law. I totally slacked off my Senior year of Shop class, and I'm hating myself for it! Stupid Stupid Stupid!

17. WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST?
It's a toss up. Either Bee Bop or Rock Steady. They both gave the Ninja turtles such a run for their money back in the 80's. I remember this one episode where Rock Steady got angry at Bee Bop for messing around and not taking his job of crushing Leonardo and Splinter seriously enough. They both ended up getting punished by shredder and his mighty army of ninjas, and Rock Steady was like, Man I don't deserve this, it was totally Bee Bops fault...he forgot the radioactive slime that they were supposed to dump down the sewer drain....Seriously though, I like Emily miss Her Grandmother. Thanksgiving isn't the same without the traditional trip to Redmond Orgeon in November to spend with Earline! It's hard to lose those close to you. I miss family who have now moved on to a better place.

18. DO YOU WANT EVERYONE TO SEND THIS BACK TO YOU?
Nawh, I totally like writing all of this stuff for my own amusement. I'm not what you would call a "people person". I prefer the life of a hermit with internet of course. I'm only doing this because the estrogen army commands it. And when they command, I obey. I am and will always be....thy humble servant.

19. WHAT COLOR PANTS AND SHOES ARE YOU WEARING?
You kidding me! It's 1:45 AM! I have a strict no pants, no shoes policy after midnight! Sleepovers for the girls are a real nightmare!

20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?
A Rory Burger this afternoon. It's from the Corvette Diner; a 60's throwback diner, where the music is loud and the waiters and waitresses throw bubble gum and straws at you. My and a few other associates (who also didn't get into Harvard Law) like to hang out here. The Rory burger is in honor of Roy Orbison, who liked peanut butter on his burger. The flavor rocks, don't knock it till ya try it!

21. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?
My favorite iTunes playlist that has Coldplay, Korn, Lynkin Park, Seether, U2, and Nicklback songs......Aaawwwee Yeeeeeaaaahhhh, Dog! (Aarons probably the only one chuckling at this point...) Right now though I'm on Viva La Vida, from Coldplay: Viva La Vida! Probably the very best song about redemption, self worth, perseverance, and hope that has ever been made.

22. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE?
I would need to form a focus group on this one. I would need to be the color that children like the very least. I've been a Nursery leader for four years! I've seen what children to to Crayons, and it is not pretty or cute. There are some places that a Crayon is not meant to go.

23. FAVORITE SMELLS?
The Smell of Success. I also love "the smell of napalm in the morning". I hear it smells a lot like Nutmeg.

24. WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE?
Emily, at 10:30, chastising me for not having the children in bed yet. Natalie has an appointment at 8AM to mow down some unfortunate 4 yr. olds in a game called soccer. Why am I still up! The O'Doules is gettin to me.

25. DO YOU LIKE THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU?
Like her? I love her! I even married her! Eternal Marriage ROCKS! Without her I'd be the awkward older single brother that nobody in the family quite knew how to relate to. And I doubt I would be receiving these great emails. Sorry Matt, you'll have to ask your wife what it's like to read and respond to these cool emails! :-)

26. FAVORITE SPORT TO WATCH?
Womens Vollyball..... I've gotta be truthful here! Basketball and BYU Football are great too! Go BYU! Ranked #17 in the nation right now, and only movin up! But nothin beats a good Chargers game. Phillips, LT, Merriman, Castillo, Olshansky, Gates (injured, but still there for moral support) San Diego Chargers are Electrifying!

27. HAIR COLOUR? Tan, Red, Blue, White, Yellow (I'm wearing a baseball cap whenever feasible...even at work sometimes with a suit and tie. It's never a bad time to show your team spirit in San Diego!

28. EYE COLOR?
Brown

29. DO YOU WEAR CONTACTS?
Yes- I'm Mr. Magoo without em!

30. FAVORITE FOOD?
Cold Cereal and Sandwiches. Joey and I are kindred spirits!

31. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?
Scary Movies that make you happy the bad guy gets it in the ending.

32. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED?
John Adams. Our Founding Fathers were AMAZING!

33. WHAT COLOUR SHIRT ARE YOU WEARING?
I call them my Friday shirts. today it's a grey shirt with a toilet paper roll on it (that's how I roll!)

34. SUMMER OR WINTER?
I love the Winter. Heat sucks! That's why they define Hell as a never ending lake of fire and brimstone. Liberals also like Summer more because the polar ice caps melt faster in the summer. When it's winter and we have record ice growth, it's kind of a buzz kill to their whole global warming "save the panda bear by living in a tee pee" cash cow. I'm gonna go with winter.

35. HUGS OR KISSES?
I wasn't a fan of the Hershey Hugs, call me old fashioned, but I say don't mess with a good thing, nothing satisfies that inner urge like a good Kiss. Emily, get your mind out of the gutter! I'm a man, not a piece of meat! I have feelings!

36. FAVOURITE DESSERT?
I think I covered this one earlier...Sugar, Cream, Milk....

37. MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND?
Aaron, I totally agree, Matt will definitely respond! I'm still waiting for him to respond to an email I sent him in '97 asking if I could borrow his scanner for some documents that Harvard requested I send them, prior to my acceptance into their fine institution. That dream's a gonner! :-)

38. LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND
My daughter Addison. She's such a slacker! I've told her time and time again; if ya got time to just sit there and poop, ya got time to catch up on your email! I don't want her to turn into her uncle.....

39. WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING NOW?
If Democrats had any brains they'd be Republicans, by Anne Coulter. An Inconvenient book, by Glenn Beck. I am America, and So Can You, by Stephen Colbert. Liberal Fascism, by Jonah Goldberg. And Entertainment Weekly while I'm taking my alone time in the bathroom.

40. WHAT IS ON YOUR MOUSEPAD
This question is right up there with, "what brand of abacus do you use?" I got's me a laptop and it's got a mouse built right in.

41. WHAT DID YOU WATCH ON T.V. LAST NIGHT?
John Adams, and I almost cried as I was sucked into the story of the struggles that not only our founding fathers make, but all of the brave men and women who sacrificed their family life for the dream of independence and liberty. Again, Paul Giamatti is an amazing actor (aside for Lady in the Lake...ugh...), and I will always be in love with the history of our great nation!

42. FAVORITE SOUND?
Aubrey and Natalie laughing and giggling together as they run around the house and are consumed in joy and happiness at being kids. I know at that moment that I'm doing something right

43. ROLLING STONES OR BEATLES?
I've never liked the Beatles. Blood starts to come out of my ears when their music is played! And the Rolling Stones don't have a great sound either. I know they played a HUGE role in ushering in Rock and Roll as we know it today, and they shaped the many great bands that sprang from them, but I don't know of anyone that say's "Yum! I LOVE Yeast! It tastes great!" But without yeast, we would have crappy bread, and I love bread; especially with meat on it!

44. WHAT IS THE FARTHEST YOU HAVE BEEN FROM HOME?
Hungary! Amazing trip!

45. DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL TALENT?
You know, like nun-chuck skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills. I'm training to be a cage fighter, and I'm pretty good with the bow staff.

46. WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
Sin City

47. WHOSE ANSWERS ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING BACK?
Eddie Spaghetti with the Meatball eyes...I'd also like to hear from Bill. As a Facilities Manager I oversee the security of my buildings, and I'd like to hear from a fellow law enforcement officer, similar to two agencies working together for the common good (those of you not in law enforcement wouldn't understand....Bill I hope you know that if there is anything I can share with you that might help you maintain the peace in the great State of Texas, I'd be more than willing to share resources. But, I'm pretty busy, similar to Matt's hectic schedule, so you may need to get in contact with my department's Beuro Chief - Emily. She can work out the details...)

Ups and Downs

So as a Mom you get your moments of confidence. That feeling of, I know what I'm doing, I am handling this Mommy thing pretty well, I can take what this job dishes out. And most importantly I can give my kids the care they need. And then karma bites you in the ass. So here was my high. Poor Addison got a nasty bout of diahrea this week. And as an experienced mom I knew the best medicine was lots of diaper changes, some A&D and lots of air exposing free time. Addie took it upon herself to help with that one. Yes she is holding her feet. Ah to be so flexible. And she spent about 4 hours in this position. As you can see she's laying on one of her many blankies (I knew there was a reason I bought 800 yards of flannel for blankets.) About every hour we'd change her blankie so that she was able to go all night without a diaper and by morning the rash was gone. Hooray. I was even able to find the humor in the whole thing and take a silly picture.

And now for karma. Natalie (why is it always her) went to the dentist this week. Now for some reason I've always had it in my head that good mothers don't let their kids get cavities. I don't know why but I've always thought that. Just like men are suppose to do yard work and take out the trash, it just IS. So we go to the dentist and I am informed that I am a horrible mother because not only does my 4-year old have SEVEN cavities but she will need a root canal and crown! That teeny-tiny black spot is the proof of my failure. I actually started crying at the dentist's office. So in two weeks we are headed back for the first of two visits to repair the damage my neglect has done.

I cannot train you as I trained the five...

Ok so I love Kung Fu Panda. Right after Batman my favorite movie this year. And I find ways to quote it regularly. So anyway my middle child has proven to test me at every phase, prompting me to change how I parent. And not to exaggerate but I have read a LOT of parenting books (I'm a reader, when I have a problem I look for a book). And none of them were able to help me with the challenges I was dealing with. Until I found this book. WOW! It was the first time I read a book that didn't immediately say "ADD, need medication, special diet, etc." Because truthfully the ADD diagnosis didn't fit her, as she can focus for hours on a project. I haven't finished the book yet but already I've been able to make adjustments in our family that better address her needs (and mine!) and we are already beginning to see changes in her. So thank you Linda Budd for helping me understand my amazing little girl!

One HILARIOUS read!

Ok, so I haven't posted in ages. But summer break ends tomorrow (I don't know whether to cry or dance with joy). But you have to read this guy's blog. I was on the floor rolling with laughter!

The Road to Black Belt

Well this is a big WOO HOO to Aubrey who passed her white belt test this week and will soon be receiving her orange belt. Now you may be wondering where are the pictures and video that should accompany this post. Well you know me, there's always a story. So testing was Wednesday at 7pm. That shouldn't be a problem you say, you had all day to get ready. ha ha ha! So first we take Natalie to preschool at 8am. Then at 10am we head to playgroup at the pool. At 11:30 Natalie gets dropped off by my friend we carpool with. By 1pm playgroup was over but Natalie and Dylan (her betrothed from what I hear) were not done playing. Shannon and I made the mistake of letting them play together a couple times after playgroup and this is no longer optional. :) So off we go to Dylan's house. Well at 3pm I tell Natalie we have to go because we have to take Aubrey to swimming. So we get home to throw some food into our mouths, grab dry towels and head to swimming lessons. We finish swim lessons and get home about 4:40pm. By which point I now have 2 hours to get Aubrey ready for testing. Which means I have 2 hours to feed the all three kids, help Aubrey wash her hair so it's not crispy, wash what I though was already clean and iron Aubrey's uniform, fix Aubrey's hair, replenish the diaper bag and get to the testing. Jared was at work lest you think he was a horrible slacker who never helps. So we do manage to make it to the testing on time looking fabulous. Jared gets my diaper bag and starts going through it. "Where's the camera?" D**n it!!! Thus ensues the debate of do we run home to get it and risk missing her test or do we stay and have no pictures/video. Jared decided to run home and grab the camera and as Murphy's law would predict he returned just as she was being dismissed off the floor. I know! However, she did an exceptional job on her test and her instructors specifically mentioned her focus and attention to detail. Go figure, it's like she's my kid or something. :) Congrats Aubrey, we love you!!

Summer has arrived!

Well Wednesday marked the arrival of summer here at our house. It was Aubrey's last day of school. With our year round schooling here that means only a 4 week, not 3 month, break. But to be honest I LOVE year round schooling. I was resistant to the idea at first but now that we've done it, I think it's fantastic!

Addison is officially two months old and continues to be a HUGE baby. She just had her checkup on Friday and she weighed over 12 pounds putting her into the 75th percentile for weight and was 25-3/4" long putting her off the chart for height. I'm seeing either volleyball or female mud wrestling in her future! :-)

Both Aubrey and Natalie just finished their start of summer swim lessons, Aubrey had a great deal more success than Natalie. Natalie is more of a dip in the pool and lounge on the deck kind of girl anyway.

We also just scored a Wii Fit. I know! How awesome is that? I have to say I was surprised at how good of a workout you can get on it. This thing is definitely NOT a self-esteem booster though, I'll tell you that much. So we were setting up our initial profiles and as all of you know Jared is...a bit rounder than he used to be. So this thing weighs you every time you get on to give you an up to date BMI. Well Jared gets on and sadly hit the top (not in a good way) mark. So his character puffs up like the Stay-Puffed marshmallow man and falls on his rear shaking his head. We must have laughed for 5 minutes straight on that one!! And then yesterday I got on for the first time after setting up my profile on Wednesday and how am I greeted "Oh I see you were too busy to work out the last few days" What?!? Am I supposed to be motivated by insults? Then I get on the silly thing and it says "You've gained 1.5 pounds since your last visit. Why is that?" Good grief! But I really do like it, I think.

Update with Photos!

So my sister-in-law who hasn't posted in six months got her blog up to date and my brother-in-law (who happens to be unemployed right now--IF YOU KNOW OF ANY GREAT JOBS PLEASE EMAIL ME!!) has been posting like every day. So I figured I better get my tushie in gear and get something new up.

I have a shameful confession to make, I am totally addicted to MarioKart Wii. I love this game! I realized it had reached a new level when I went online to find out how to unlock all the characters, levels and cars and PRINTED it out to keep with the game so I know what to work on next. Yikes! But what else am I suppose to do when it's 115 outside?!? Although Jared wants me to point out that I've been this way for a while. He dug out this picture as proof (this is me at our first Christmas together).

On June 1st we blessed Addison. Here's the good news it was an awesome blessing and such a great experience to have her blessed. Here's the bad news, I tried to record the blessing (hey, don't judge me I know you do it too, I just admit it openly). Only all I got was Natalie (bless her sweet heart) singing while her sister was getting blessed. I can't even say she was singing church music, it was High School musical songs.
Aubrey started Taekwondo almost a month ago. She earned her first stripe yesterday and will most likely get her second stripe on Monday. She is so cute!!

Natalie is just as busy as ever. We just got the call on Friday that the preschool I was hoping to get her into has a spot for her. Hooray!! She is so excited to start school. She's already informed me that she needs a Diego backpack. :-) Such a cute kiddo!

Blogging Hiatus

So it's been a while since I posted...just shameful! I admit having three wonderful girls keeps me busier and I've been spending a lot of time on my first (hobby) love; digital scrapbooking. Jared got me a new toy--12x12 printer so I have instant gratification!! So I'll do a quick update and promise to provide pictures and more to come (hopefully it won't take me another month)

Aubrey; just lost another tooth! Had a great 7th birthday, she's growing up so fast!!
Natalie; just about the cutest 4 year old ever.
Addison; started smiling this week and OMG it just melts your heart! I forgot how rewarding those first smiles are. Yes she is a sleeping champ...the kind of baby that tricks you into having more. Thank goodness we took care of that.... :-)
Jared; not much to report other than a FUNNY story to completely embarrass him. We went out to dinner last night, the older girls stayed with a sitter and we brought the baby with us. The parking at El Torito's is always a nightmare so Jared dropped me at the door and went to park the car. So I get our name on the list and wait for him and Addison. About 5 minutes later in walks Jared--without the baby. And I look at him. "What?" (Jared). "Seriously?" (Emily). "Seriously, what?" (Jared). "The baby?" (Emily). "Oh crap!" (Jared). Yes, he left the baby in the car and totally forgot! I teased him mercilessly all night about that one. :-) Please don't call CPS on us!

First Photo Shoot

A huge thank you to my friend Crystal who came over and did an awesome photo shoot of Addison this week. I am absolutely in love with these pictures!! Now the hard part is picking one to go in her announcements. So check out my super cute baby and let me know which one you think for the announcement!

And yes I am horribly behind in my blogging. Natalie had a birthday which was awesome. I have the cutest pictures and video that need to be posted. Aubrey was in a talent show at school almost a month ago that still needs to go up on the blog. Aye yay yay!! And lest anyone think I'm just amazingly keeping it all together rest assured that my house is a mess, we ate Taco Bell for dinner and my kids bath tonight consisted of a 30 second spray down in the shower. ha ha ha!! In the words of my favorite moose "so it wasn't so simple. And it wasn't so easy and okay, okay it wasn't so perfectly perfect. But do you know what? It was pretty close" For those of you who haven't read Mooseltoe just know that all great wisdom can be found in children's books!

First Day Solo

So today was the big day of me managing three kids for the first time by myself. I admit I was close to tears as we waved goodbye to Daddy this morning. But Aubrey got to school on time and I even remembered that it was teacher appreciation week. I got Addison down for a morning nap and managed to play two games of Mousetrap with Natalie. I snuck in a tiny power nap while she watched Little Einsteins. I felt so proud when I gave myself enough time to get a bottle ready before we left to get Aubrey from school. I was feeling cool, calm and so in control. This was doable, I could do this. Picked up Aubrey from school, she had a great day--fantastic. I had even managed to get Aubrey to do most of her homework over the weekend so I knew we just had about 30 minutes of review to do after snack. And now the critical moment had arrived, the hour I had most feared all day; homework time. I had come up with a great activity for Natalie, Aubrey's work was all ready to go, the only variable was Addison. Things started well, she ate while the girls had their snack. Then things started to deteriorate quickly. She didn't like sitting in my lap while I helped the girls with their work and she went from sweet baby to uncontrollable rage in just a few short minutes. I felt my sanity dissolving. I kept trying the pacifier as Aubrey yelled her flashcard words over her sister's wails of protest. And then Aubrey gave me the look and said "you're getting frustrated aren't you?" Oh yes, I was. And then a moment of sheer inspiration came, swaddle her. So I papoosed that munchkin just as snug as I could and you know what, she fell asleep in about 2 minutes. And now here it is quarter after 7pm, I managed to feed my family a meal that didn't come from a box, I have Natalie in the tub, Aubrey at Taekwondo and a content baby. I have a reasonably clean house and I'm even getting a blog post up. Not bad for my first day solo. I make no guarantees about the rest of the week but today I did okay.

Welcome To Our Family Little Addy

Addison's Stats: 9 pounds, 21-1/2" long born at 12:02 pm on Wednesday 4/23/2008

I just can't express how thankful and happy I am to be a Dad! I enjoy my profession, I enjoy electronics and just about anything made by apple. I enjoy stupid movies that don't make any sense other than to give moronic individuals such as myself huge laughs. I enjoy the company of good friends. I enjoy skipping around Disneyland with my younger brother in the rain with freaking HUGE umbrellas, acting like a 7 yr old! I enjoy a rather large supply of what my wife calls "idiot shirts" (these are the tee shirts that can be found on the back wall of Target stores everywhere!) I enjoy music, politics, religion, Brian Regan, "Dirty Jobs", and "The King of Queens". But nothing compares to the joy that I feel when it comes to being a Dad to now my THREE precious girls. God has given me more than I deserve or could ever ask for. Aubers, Nutter Butter, Addy Kins... Thanks for making me a better man by granting me the highest honor of being you Dad! I love you three more than anything!

"Certain is it that there is no kind of affection so purely angelic as of a father to a daughter. In love to our wives there is desire; to our sons, ambition; but to our daughters there is something which there are no words to express." ~Joseph Addison

I've posted pictures of Addisons arrival on my webpage: web.mac.com/palmerjared. This is Emily's blog, and I don't wanna be muckin it up by trying to post a kazillion pictures on it. So enjoy the pics!

I'm a Big Girl Now!

Both the girls hit major milestones this weekend. Aubrey learned to ride a two wheeler! This has been a long hard learning process. Aubrey mastered the heelies but was very reluctant to ride a bike. Thank goodness for the internet and the wisdom of other mommies and daddies who have faced the same challenge. I found an abundance of advice on how to get a reluctant rider off and going in just an afternoon. I'll be honest I was really skeptical, especially since I certainly am in no condition to run behind a bike right now. But sure enough I followed the plan step by step and within about an hour she was riding on her own! I was thrilled. There's a certain amount of pride in seeing your child accomplish something she has struggled with; both in myself for helping her achieve it and in her for continuing to try. I'm so proud of my big girl!!

And Natalie got her ears pierced! She's been asking for several weeks now and I've been keeping it low key trying to see how determined she was. Well once this kiddo sets her mind to something she's like a terrier, can't get her to let go of it. We talked to her about what would happen and that it would pinch a little but then be over. Natalie's a pretty tough girl and so I didn't expect too many tears from her. When I took Aubrey she had her ears done one at a time and hardly flinched. Well, you think you know your child... Everything was going great she was super excited, couldn't wait to get her earrings. And then "the pinch" came. She screamed! Thank goodness they did both ears at the same time, I don't think we would have gotten both ears done. And the look on her face was of such utter betrayal. I wanted to cry! Fortunately a quick trip to Richie's for a strawberry milkshake brought a smile back to her face. Now, she talks about the whole experience quite bravely and loves having her earrings.

Overdue...

The due date came, the due date went
And still there is no baby yet.
The doctor says that she will show
How long we'll wait, "I don't know".
I tried the sex, I tried the walk
I think these things are all just talk.
So I wait impatiently,
For this baby number three.
"Good things come to those who wait"
There's someone I'd like to castrate!
So here's to hoping today's the day
'Cause pregnant much longer I cannot stay.

Previews of Coming Attractions

well here it is 4:20am and I am wide awake.  I thought this wasn't suppose to happen until after baby arrived.  unfortunately I've got a nasty cold that keeps waking me up add to that monster heartburn a three year old who suddenly can't sleep in her own bed and let's not forget needing to pee every 20 minutes and here you have me.  on the bright side i am writing this post from my new iPhone  which totally rocks.  sorry verizon friends had to switch to at&t.  but this thing is so cool!  well I am going to go make aubrey's  lunch might as well be productive I guess...

A little bit of fun

As the days tick by and we continue to await the arrival of this baby girl I thought we should have some fun to help pass the time. Being a wee bit competitive myself I like a good, fun wager. hee hee hee! So it's time for the baby pool! Feel free to click here to enter your guess on the arrival of this little critter. To level the playing field my actual due date is April 16th. However when you make your guess bear in mind I went two weeks over with both the girls. The only prize in this game is the satisfaction of winning but it should still be fun. Who knows maybe there will be chocolate after all....

The Obsession begins

My friend Heidi has long raved about Pinkberry. So finally, yesterday I set aside time to get my very first Pinkberry. I went for original with raspberries, mango and pineapple. Oh the delicious goodness! I tried unsuccessfully to explain to Jared what exactly Pinkberry was and what it tasted like. I felt like a babbling idiot and just kept saying it was so good. So Jared took me down again today (ooh, twist my arm) and I got to savor another delicious treat. Sure enough he loved it too, so there are now two more loyal customers!

Lazy Days

Aubrey has really enjoyed her time off track. In addition to two Disneyland trips and playing with friends, she's been doing a lot of reading. I just love this picture!!

The little carnivore

All I can say is this girl likes her meat!
What? I'm just having a little snack...

Leprechaun Fun

A few years back I read a great article on ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I picked one and the girls loved it so we've continued since. The night before St. Patrick's Day the girls decorate a box (the more glittery and shiny the better since that's what attracts the little guys). Then they leave the box in the moonlight. During the night the leprechauns fill the box with their loot and hide it in the house. If the girls can find the box the loot is theirs to keep. Fortunately the little green men leave behind a glittering trail that helps out! Aubrey was really quick this morning, even though the trail was especially tricky, they ran all over the house! Natalie thought the cats had done it, which really made me laugh. Unfortunately my camera battery was dead so I don't have any pictures but the girls were thrilled to find all kids of jewelry hidden in the box. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Disney Days!

At the start of the school year we were introduced to the school's reading/sight word program for Aubrey. It involved 11 units with each unit having approximately 25 sight words in it to memorize. We told Aubrey that when she completed all 11 units we would take her to Disneyland. We had no idea who type of motivation this would instill in her! This is a program intended to last all year, so we figured we'd be heading to Disneyland this summer. Well as her trimester break approached she became more and more motivated, actually asking if we could practice more so that she could pass off her unit. She was determined to get to Disneyland during break. And sure enough she passed off her final unit with a week to spare! Way to go Aubrey! We had a great family trip to Disneyland, we actually went two days in a row which the girls thought was AWESOME! Aubrey was thrilled because she got to meet Princess Aurora (forget that we had to stand in line for 2-1/2 hours....). All in all it was a great trip; perfect weather, no long lines and lots of characters.

Wii are having so much fun!

Jared has been aching for the Nintendo Wii for quite some time. I considered getting him one at Christmas only to discover they sold out in about a nano-second. So I figured by his birthday they would most certainly be back on shelves. HA! Delusional thought that was. And then Valentine's came and went and still no Wii had arrived at our house. I think poor Jared had just about given up hope. Well we were on a random trip to Target and he happened to ask if they had any or were getting any. Well the 12 year old who worked there got all excited and said they were getting a hundred and selling them for $100. I found this highly unlikely. So as fate would have it we were back to Target just a couple days later and he checked with another employee who confirmed that the Wii was coming but hadn't heard about any special pricing. So Jared gets up early on the appointed day and gets to Target about a quarter to 8:00am. He's like the 40th person in line! But he got his Wii and for all those dedicated shoppers who stood in line they got 25% off their purchase. Of course it didn't actually save us any money, Jared just stocked up on extra controllers and games. But he didn't actually spend more than the original price so I can't complain. We all had a great time creating our Miis and I think Jared gets the prize for best resemblance. He is however quite annoyed that I've beaten him at golf, boxing and most recently target shooting.

The elephant in the room

So I wasn't feeling so self-conscious about my lumbering state until I went back and looked at some pictures from the last time I was pregnant. This is me 42 weeks pregnant with Natalie. Yes you read that correctly 42 weeks--2 weeks past my due date. And now this is me currently (well actually last week) at 34 weeks. I have at least 6 more weeks (although given that both the girls came two weeks late I'm trying to mentally prepare for 8 more weeks)! Pretty soon I'm gonna need a wagon or something just to haul my sorry self around.

Showered with love

First off let me say a HUGE thank you to Kim, Crystal and Leilani for the awesome baby shower last week. I had such a blast. And a big thank you to all my great friends who came to celebrate! It was great to have you all there.

I can safely say Addison is going to be one well dressed girl come April. She got some of the CUTEST outfits!

And I cannot end the post without a picture of the fabulous diaper cake. It's amazing!!
Thanks again everybody, you guys are great!

Neighbor Woes...

I usually am the one saying how much I love my neighborhood and neighbors. I know almost everyone on the street and my kids love having friends on either side. However, the ivory tower crumbled a little today. My girls were out playing with their friend who lives next door and I was chatting on the porch with her mom. The kids were drawing with chalk on the driveway and I was throwing an occasional glance their way. I looked over and saw that they weren't in the driveway but I could still hear them so I wasn't too worried. It sounded like they were in the backyard and they were screaming. Now being a mom to girls, high pitched screaming just doesn't get me moving too fast anymore because it happens a lot. My only concern was that my neighbor has a pool in her back yard. So I say "does it sound like the kids are in the back yard?". She agreed but said "don't worry about the pool, the fence is closed". I said we should probably go see what they were up to anyway. So we go through the house to the backyard and this is when my adrenaline skyrockets. The fence to the pool is open and Natalie is walking along the edge of the pool. Aubrey is screaming and crying because their dog (a lab mix) is out and jumping all over her--she is on her knees trying to hit the dog to get away. I freeze for a minute because I don't know which one to run to first. I try to calmly but firmly tell Natalie to come away from the pool NOW! I don't know how I did on calm, but I was definitely firm. Then I ran to Aubrey to get the dog off of her. And in case you're wondering, my neighbors idea of helping was to say "Anna, stop it, stop jumping". yeah, that was not working. So I grab this dog by the throat and pin it to the ground. My neighbor is like "be careful, you're pregnant I don't want her to jump on you". And I'm thinking you'll be lucky if I don't break this dog's neck. I told both the girls to go straight into the house. I didn't see any blood on Aubrey so I'm hoping she's just scared and not hurt. Now here's the real kicker. My neighbor's son (if you've seen the movie "A Christmas Story", think of a 7 yr old Scott Farcus...) is on top of their BBQ laughing this whole time. Apparently he's the one who let the dog out while Aubrey wasn't looking. So the girls are now in my neighbor's house and I have to let the dog up to go in after them. As soon as I let the dog up it runs into the house and jumps up on Aubrey again. I run after the dog, grab it again and tell the girls to go to our house I'll be right there. My neighbor is following me this whole time saying "I can't believe she's doing this, my heart is just pounding, oh my gosh, I can't believe he was laughing about it". And I'm just trying to stay calm and get out of her house as quickly as possible meanwhile I'm having visions of drowning the dog and smashing that kid's face into the mud and yelling "who's laughing now"--very mature, I know. Thankfully Aubrey was okay, just some scratches and mud and thankfully Natalie did not fall into the pool. So we had a SERIOUS talk about going into backyards without Mom around and about NEVER going near pools. I keep having flashes of Natalie at the bottom of the pool and Aubrey covered in dog bites.

My problem is I really do like my neighbor she's fun to visit with and the girls like playing with her youngest daughter. I've tolerated the rotten fruit in my yard that this same son throws, the mangled plants because she lets them play football through my front yard, the incessant "can we get our ball back" because they are constantly throwing balls in my yard and various other annoyances because I want to be a good neighbor and friend. But today I have to say something inside me broke. I really don't know how I am going to look this woman in the face again without yelling at her to get control of her kid! I realize I should have watched the kids closer and gone to investigate sooner when it sounded like they had moved into the backyard and believe you me I WILL NOT make that same mistake again. But to see another person's child maliciously laughing while my child is being hurt just makes me shake with anger!

So here's my question how do you stay friends or at least stay friendly with someone that you like when their child(ren) and/or their discipline absolutely sends you over the bend?

NOW the playroom is done.

According to Jared now that his TV is installed the playroom is officially finished. Here's his latest prized possession.

Of course I'm not in much of a position to tease Jared about his quirky obsessions. JoAnn had a killer sale on flannel this week and I bought um....well...now remember it was a REALLY good sale (25 yards) and I saved a TON of money. It's always good to have around, you never know when you'll use a couple yards of flannel. Seriously, it's not that bad right? But I have made four receiving blankets and a "wubby" for the baby since I brought it home. I have a few more blankets cut out and plenty left over for bibs. Also I had to let the girls pick some for jammies--a girl can never have too many jammies. At this Jared points out that a boy can never have too many TVs. Hmmm... I don't know about that, but I didn't get into trouble with the fabric so I'm gonna let it slide.

Nothing like a good book

So one of th few things I accomplished in the last few weeks is catching up on my reading habit. And I have to admit, some were better than others. By far the best thing I read was Garden Spells, by Sarah Addison Allen. It was a great story, with a fantasy quality similar to Like Water for Chocolate (remember when she cries into the wedding cake batter and it makes all the guests at the wedding cry, that sort of thing). Having a good book to read brought back fond memories of my Chula Vista book club. It is so nice to get book recommendations from people you know and whose tastes you share. Anyone else enjoyed a good book lately?

Playing Catch-up

Well it's been a crazy couple weeks. Turns out that pesky side/back pain was more than just dehydration. I was back at the hospital a week later with the same problem. Turns out I had fluid backing up in my kidney (from a kidney stone) and that was the source of the problem. So once that passed life got much better. Let me just say that drinking a gallon of water each day is not fun. So after all the excitement I've been playing catch up around the house. And both my girls get a BIG pat on the back for being such great helpers to their mommy. A couple of nights Aubrey took care of feeding Natalie for me--what a trooper. And during the day Natalie had started sneaking up with a bottle of water and saying "mommy, I have a surprise for you..." She's seen me drink so much water I think she's under the misguided impression that it's a treat. Thankfully it looks as though I'm back to just normal pregnant woes (i.e. swollen feet that I can't see or reach, an aching back and just enough energy to feed myself...ha ha ha!).

Oh and Jared would like me to add that on Monday we are achieving playroom perfection when he brings home the blessed T.V. he's been waiting for (serious eye roll from me). He's actually skipping work so he can get there when Costco opens to pick it up.

Swearing off the soda

So had a bit of excitement this weekend. Sunday afternoon I started to feel pretty crummy, I'd had an annoying pain in my right side for several days that I chalked up to the growing belly. But Sunday afternoon it reached a new level--as in I'm seeing spots, think I'm going to pass out from this pain (or as Brian Reegan would say "it feels like all my insides, want to be on my outsides). So Jared packed me up in the car and headed over to the hospital. Once we got there and got me checked in the first thing the nurse says to me is "you are REALLY dehydrated". I'm sort of in and out of chattiness at this point so I give her that forced smile, nod and say "yeah I'm not the best water drinker" and I'm thinking somebody just get me some morphine! She comes back a few minutes later to put in the I.V., draw blood, all that fun stuff. Still no pain meds. Then I start throwing up. Now I get my shot of pain killers. So I settle into that drug induced haze but for some reason still not getting a lot of pain relief. So I power through one bag of hydrating goodness and I'm still dehydrated so I get a second dose. Doc comes in says the good news is I don't have a kidney infection, but it might be a kidney stone, also since I've been on the monitor I've started having contractions so they can't send me home. Lovely. So I'm still in and out of awareness when the nurse comes in and says good news is the contractions have stopped, bad news is baby's heart rate is getting a little low so no going home. Now had I not been thoroughly high this probably would have alarmed me more. However, since I had not only a shot of morphine but also some lovely other pain meds, and was now working on 3 bags of hydration I was only able to nod and let my eyes roll back into my head. About two hours later I was pronounced releasable. Baby and I were out of immediate danger and could be sent on our way. I woke up the next day with a super hangover, fortunately Jared stayed home! And in my attempt to stay better hydrated I started the day off with a water bottle. Well come lunch time I was really craving a Root Beer and I thought, hey it's liquid.... About 20 minutes after I drank half my root beer that pesky ache in my side started to come back. Well that's annoying I thought and I downed another water bottle. So Tuesday I am off to Sam's club and I swing by the food court for a healthy hot dog (ha ha ha) and uber sized soda. I get about half of the soda down and I start not feeling so good. By the time I get home my palms are sweating from the pain. I start chugging the water as fast as I can. After a few hours I start feeling better and yes that dim light bulb starts to flicker on. So after being the guinea pig in my own experiment it's safe to say no more soda for me. Yet another reminder that I'm now over 30 and my body isn't what it used to be. Life can be so cruel.

Oh for personal space

I don't know it it's just because I'm pregnant or what but I would give my left arm for some personal space! Like a little electric fence that has an 18" perimeter around my person. It starts in the morning with Natalie jumping into bed with me for her morning snuggle. Now I actually really enjoy this and I look forward to it, it's our morning ritual. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Then it's one or both of the kids sitting in my lap to have their hair fixed. Then it's an elbow in the ribs from bambino. Then it's being used as a human trampoline. By the time Aubrey gets home from school and is ready to do her reading homework I'm just like "sit on the other side of the room...just don't sit next to me!" Understand that sitting next to me also means sitting halfway on me. It's not that I don't like my kids and I'm happy to give them love and affection I just am tired of feeling like a piece of furniture.

I'm the color of poo...

Take this test!

You're brown, a credible, stable color that's reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you're a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you're probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you're constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it's by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.
