Overdue...

The due date came, the due date went
And still there is no baby yet.
The doctor says that she will show
How long we'll wait, "I don't know".
I tried the sex, I tried the walk
I think these things are all just talk.
So I wait impatiently,
For this baby number three.
"Good things come to those who wait"
There's someone I'd like to castrate!
So here's to hoping today's the day
'Cause pregnant much longer I cannot stay.

Oh Emily...I feel your pain. I was so eager for Sebastian to come that I had the doc strip my membranes at week 39--nothing. Again, at the 40 week mark--nothing. Then the day of my 41st week, he finally agreed to induce me. Those last few weeks were MISERABLE, so I do understand. I'll be thinking about you!

Well, at least you look good, right?!?! :-) Love the top. And your face doesn't swell up like mine does. Ugh. I know, it's nothing you care to hear, but maybe you're in the hospital right now!! That would be great. Can't wait to see her.

I can't say I know what you are going through, but I sure hope you feel better soon and the baby arrives safely!

Here in Japan, mother's stay in the hospital for about a week following routine deliveries for recovery, and the nurses take care of the baby for the most part while the mother's take time to rest up, recover their strength, and adjust to breast-feeding, etc. Although it costs several thousands of dollars to have a baby here and epidurals are very uncommon, I think the idea of longer hospital stays for moms is a great idea! I hope you are able to stay rested and well during the transitional time! We're thinking of you!

I feel your pain -- I don't go into labor either. Devan was a whole week over before they would agree to start me. Greatest day ever! You do look really good though. Who knows, you may have already had her?!
